We are searching for an Art Director to join our Vancouver studio team on one of our exciting 2D productions. The show has a magical, whimsical feel to it, with a lot of humor and a cartoony style. The Art Director will be responsible for developing the overall visual style of the show, and will supervise the design team on the creation of all visual elements for the production. 

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure all character, location and prop designs, as well as colour palette, support the overall creative vision for the story and style of the project
  • Oversee and supervise all designers with respect to their weekly assignments, communicating show style, vision, deadlines, etc.
  • Communicate with the Producer and other departments to anticipate and address potential roadblocks as a team
  • Participate in recruiting designers for your team as needed

What you bring with you:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role or capacity; preference for those who have previously Directed an animated TV series or feature film
  • Strong drawing, illustration and painting capabilities, with good knowledge of anatomy, proportion, perspective and composition.
  • Proven success in managing creative teams 
  • Experience working with Toon Boom Harmony an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of the animation process from script to screen
  • Well organized and able to juggle multiple priorities
