People and Culture Manager

Bardel is currently recruiting for an experienced People and Culture (Human Resources) Manager to work collaboratively with our Emmy award winning studio team. 

What you will be doing:

Leads all human resource functions for all associates in multiple facilities located in Kelowna & Vancouver, including but not limited to: employee relations, training, labour and/or positive employee relations, training and coaching, talent acquisition and corporate management, security and regulatory compliance issues. This position will work closely with both the Senior Staff and Production Staff.

What you will be doing:

  • Leads and manages the People and Culture team to ensure HR services are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Leads the foreign worker recruitment process, dealing with all necessary applications (LMIA, NAFTA, etc.) and follow through with transition plans as required by the government.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with national, provincial and local regulations by developing and maintaining all required policies and procedures, attending educational training seminars and researching reference materials to ensure compliance.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Investigations and resolves concerns and issues as appropriate, including where necessary the issuance of corrective action plans.
  • Participates in the development, administration and execution of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Administers corporate compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Actively participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Work in collaborate with the office Manager to represent the company for any unemployment and or Work Safe claims.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in similar capacity, preferably in animation, film, and/or gaming industry
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field an asset 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Applications
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication (both verbally and written) and conflict resolution skills
  • Willingness to interface with Technology and learn new tracking softwares related to animation industry
